Description
12 Presentations. Multidisciplinary examination of the challenge of incorporating disease and insect resistance into crop plants. Topics include importance of host plant resistance, national and international germplasm collections, germplasm evaluation and enhancement, population development, evaluating populations, resistance mechanisms in plants, genetic control of resistance, approaches to breeding for host plant resistance, stability of genetic resistance mechanisms, the use of marker-assisted selection and molecular tools in breeding for host plant resistance.
